Our Key Action 2 project is developed to bring the results of vocational training in catering to the needs of the labor market within 24 months. The main objective will be realized when we reach the following specific objectives:
- improving the quality and efficiency of vocational education in the catering and tourism industry,
- developing new approaches to improve the competence already practicing teachers and providing them with all the expertise and skills necessary to provide high quality services,
- increasing access and promoting generated in Europe, open educational resources,
increasing social mission for the promotion of vocational education with the needs of employers.
Current project news
Second Transnational Project Meeting within "GaTIS-Innovative Solutions in Tourism and Gastronomy" took place on 25th April 2018 in CSHM in Valencia. The meeting was attended by representatives of Perfect Project Sp. z o.o., Daugavpils Tirdzniecibas profesionala vidusskola and host of the meeting - Centro Superior De Hostelería Del Mediterraneo. The main aspects discussed during the meeting are: presentation of the report template and allocation of coordinators for each part, presentation of the eco food issues by the partner from Latvia, training program in Valencia and its organizational part, ideas for dissemination activities in the partnership and preparation of the minutes of the meeting.

On April 12, 2018 in the Major Henryk Dobrzański-Hubal Agricultural School in Sokółka there was a meeting of two consortium schools as part of the GaTIS-Innovative Solutions in Tourism and Gastronomy. The meeting was attended by: Director and teachers of vocational subjects of the Agricultural School in Sokółka, vocational school teacher Daugavpils Tirdzniecibas profesionala vidusskola and project coordinator. During the visit, the participants exchanged experiences in the field of vocational education in the area of nutrition and hospitality, which is the field of the project and participated in practical classes, which culminated in the joint consumption of prepared regional dishes.

Latvian team participants in the frames of the Erasmus+ KA2 project have visited a country house „Upenīte” in Aglona, Daugavpils district. This is a biologically certified farm, that produce dairy products (including cheese), vegetables, meat and eggs.
A farm hostess Inese has kindly shared experience concerning ecological food production, its pluses and minuses, has given some local recipes.
GATiS consortium is a partnership whose aim is to present perspectives for the development of organic nutrition in gastronomic facilities in hotels as a method of tourist hotel product diversification. In the partnership, we would like to try to answer the question: what obstacles do schools, hoteliers and restaurateurs want to introduce this type of food into the curricula and menu of their institutions? Healthy food is the future of gastronomy. The Polish, Spanish and Latvian catering market is moving towards healthy and organic food. People have an increasing awareness in this area. On the above markest there are more and more organic food producers operating on the market, for example, farms specializing in products traditionally produced products characteristic for a given region. At the same time, people are living faster and faster. Together with partners, we would like to look at the problem of how the catering industry can become more and more competitive thanks to organic products, such as healthy fast food. There are no elements of organic cuisine respecting regional products in the teaching programs in catering and related events. Therefore, students have a chance to get to know it only in additional initiatives undertaken by schools. Gastronomic modernity also consists in restoring forgotten and displaced products to menus.

We as a Perfect Project and Project Partner from Daugavpils are acting as a Sending Intitutions in our project. So, one of the most important project stages is enrollment of partcipants to the project.

We would like to inform about current project activities. Project Partner from Daugavpils had a "brainstorming" meeting with team members. They considered project main idea regarding national policy, school programs and entrepreneurs expectations. It was very fruitful meeting.

First Transnational Project Meeting in Bialystok took place on 1st December 2017 in Hotel Ibis Styles in Bialystok.
1.Agreement signing - all partners signed the agreement with all annexes.
- the project path, each project partner contribution, project administrative issues: timeline, financial issues, management activites, short trainings, transnational project meetings, confirmation of visit,
- monitoring of the project,
- cooperation between partners.
3. Dissemination – future action to increase the impact of the experience connected with partner’s disscusion, the presentation of dissemination strategy.
