Pizza and dumplings – cultural activities during the students’ stay with the Italian
Last week, there was a meeting of students of the Academic Secondary School of Bialystok Technical University with students from Italy who are completing their internship in Białystok. It began with short presentations that showed the schools, customs and everyday life of both groups. During this time, students from Poland and Italy could learn more about each other.
When asked about what they liked the most about the trip to Poland and the meeting at ALOPB, students from Italy responded that they were primarily fascinated by the opportunity to learn about another culture, visiting previously unknown places, as well as the opportunity to try Polish delicacies.
Then, as part of the entertainment, under the supervision of PE students, students competed in two sports – volleyball and futsal. The level of the games was very even, but in the end the Italians won the football match, and the students of our school – the volleyball match. The winning ratio was therefore 1: 1.
The event was also a great opportunity to test your English communication skills and establish new, perhaps permanent contacts. There was also a mutual learning of foreign languages, recommendations to visitors of wonderful Polish dishes and an Italian lesson on how not to put pineapple on a pizza, and pizza with ketchup is a sin.
The students also went on a tour of Białystok and enjoyed the taste of the best dumplings in Podlasie.
